ÜBER MICH

ÜBER MICH

Wer steckt hinter „The Travelling Colognian“?

Dafür steht „The Travelling“ in meinem Blognamen.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

    Hi Vanessa,

Thanks for dropping by my blog. When I looked up your blog I instantly hit the „Follow“ button as you’ve written stories from places I really want to visit. Speaking of your bilingual blog, I guess it’s a good thing for me as I really want to hone my German. I learned the language during my 2-week trip to Germany and Austria. But now it’s getting rusty. Keep up the spirit and vielen dank for visiting my blog!

      Hi Bama,

thank you very much for your comment and for stopping by my blog. I am impressed that you learned german and want to keep up improving your language skills as I think, it is a language not easy to learn. This is what I was told by people who live here, but who are not german natives. You have seen countries which I would love to visit one day, Indonesia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and the Philippines, for example. I look very much forward to read your future posts. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Nicole, thank you so much for stopping by and for the reading. I am impressed by your social commitment as this is important for my parents and me (who are travelling independently from each other) as well. We always try to support the locals as much as possible in hiring local guides, use local accommodations and drivers, donate and collect money for small charity projects in those countries.

Thanks! 🙂 I believe so strongly that we all should give back. Life is a present and traveling is a pure luxury that many will never ever have.

I so much agree with you. I also think that we all, but especially those who travel, should give something back. Both my parents and I try to support small projects and charity foundations in the countries we travel to which don’t have administrative machinery at all. To check if everything is in order their founders travel to the countries and places on their own expense so that hundred percent of the donations go directly into the projects.

Thanks for the comment! 🙂 The more I travel, the more I realize how truly blessed I am and must help out. So many people will never ever be able to even leave their own country. To travel is such a blessing!

That’s so true. I am more than grateful to my parents, especially to my Mom, who enabled me to travel already when I was very young and who still encourages me to fulfill my ideas and travel plans, no matter how wacky they are. My travels are definitely eye-opening and totally changed my view of the world.

Me too. I also think the more you travel, the more you want to travel. It is a bug that won’t ever quit! 🙂

Hi Annette, thank you so much for the kind words. Yes, I am more than happy that I was able to see that much of Asia in the last few years. On your blog I saw, that you are originally from Germany as well. It’s great to „meet“ you in the blogosphere. What a nice coincidence, that your Grandma was “koelsch” as well.

I just realized that your comment represents my 1000th comment on my blog! Yeah – I started blogging in January 2013, so it’s been almost a year. So, for whatever it’s worth: Congratulations on becoming my Number 1000 commenter!

I haven’t had the pleasure of traveling to Asia yet but it is definitely on my top priority list. I’m very happy to have come across your blog. I know it will be of great help when I finish up with my European adventures and head on over to Asia.

Happy New Year and good luck with your future travels! I will be happily reading along 🙂

Hi Wilf, thank you so much for your kind words and for the following. I have travelled across Europe, the US & Canada, Latin America, Australia & New Zealand before, but concentrated pretty much on Asia in the past ten and a half years and it has become my favourite continent. I could also imagine to live there, at least for a few years. I also started to follow you on Twitter.

Always safe and happy travels to you as well.
