Exactly one year ago today I stood on top of the Shanghai World Financial Center, China’s tallest buidling at that time, and watched the nightly atmosphere of the city from up there.
Only nine days before I have been on top of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest buidling in the world. I have seen the sun set and watched the metropolis enlighten slowly from above.
In between things have changed a bit. The construction of the Shanghai Tower has reached its final height and has taken the place of the Shanghai World Financial Center as China’s tallest building. The Burj Khalifa however will remain the tallest building of the world for several years as it is more than 150 metres higher than all other existing skyscrapers and all buildings which are currently under construction.
