If you received an email so far when I published a new blog article and if you want to be informed about new blog articles via email in the future you should definitely continue reading.

On Friday, the 25th May 2018, thus in a few hours, the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be legally binding in all member states of the European Union. This doesn’t only apply for big and middle-size companies but also for honorary associations, photographers and bloggers i.e. for everyone who has a website or a blog also on WordPress.com, Blogspot, Jimdo or Joomla.

In general, I think, more data protection is a good thing especially after the Data scandal at Cambridge Analytica whereby the data of millions of Facebook users were spied out.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes with several changes also for this website. I already deleted several plugins and I will delete a few more before midnight. I will also remove the program which I used to inform my readers about new blog posts. In addition to the GDPR, it caused a really slow loading time of my website. This means that you won’t get any E-Mails from me anymore regarding new blog articles.

If you want to be informed about my newest blog posts also in the future you can subscribe to my RSS feed. If you klick on the link, you will see a button “Subscribe now”. If you click on that button you will also receive my newest blog articles in the future.

I hope that you will be informed about this blog article via E-Mail and I would be happy if you follow my travel blog also in the future.

I was inspired to write this blog post by Ilona from Wandernd who has to make similar changes to her website like me.
