The word “Juxtaposition” describes two neighbouring things which nevertheless can be totally different from each other.

I have met this elderly tibetan lady in August 2010 in her shop next to the Sera Monastery in Lhasa, Tibet. At first she didn’t want to be photographed and told me that she isn’t young enough anymore. But she changed her mind and agreed when I responded that I think, she is very interesting.

In my opinion the two pretty appearing young asian ladys on the freezer and this real elderly tibetan lady form a very good juxtaposition. For me, the latter is a lot more interesting. She has lived her live and she seemed to have so many stories to tell. I was there with a group otherwise I would have loved to listen to her for the story of her life.
